L B Spices Trading (Pvt) Ltd is known as one of Sri Lanka’s leading producers & exporters of high quality cinnamon and spices to many parts of the world including the western markets.

Mr. K L Gunadasa founded the company way back in 1930 as a cinnamon buying & selling establishment.  In 1970, he expanded the business to a medium scale operation by growing cinnamon in their own plantations in Meetiyagoda, the main town of Ambalangoda in the southern coastal belt of Sri Lanka.

In 1991, Mr. K L Karunaratne joined hands with his father, Mr. K L Gunadasa, to consolidate the business.  In 1997, L B Spices Trading (Pvt) Ltd was established as a limited liability company and since then, the business was expanded to a larger scale export oriented company by including value-added products to its traditional product range.  Distilling cinnamon leaf oil, cinnamon bark oil and other essential oils strengthened the prestigious image of the company in the international market.

Our common products are produced from authentic plant material.  Plants are cultivated under careful supervision in our own plantations using natural manure without using artificial pesticides.
